Unlike traditional auction sites, it's not the highest bid that wins in our auctions; it's the highest 'unique' bid
(HUB) that wins - a bid value that no other bidder has entered.
For example, we could feature a $500.00 Gas Card auction with a ceiling bid as low as $4.34. Users can then
enter bids from anywhere between 0.01 and $4.34.
Let's say three people bid $4.34, two people bid $4.33 and one person bids $4.32, then the "highest unique
bid" would be $4.32 (although it is not the highest bid in this example range of bids). This means the winner
will only pay $4.32 for a $500.00 Gas Card plus the admin fees he has paid for entering bids.
Bidding details can vary by auction and are always announced on the auctions' bidding page.
A set number of bids is required for each auction before it can close (the Reserve). Once the reserve has been reached, the auction runs for another 48 hrs and then closes. The member who holds the HUB at this stage wins.

We have a variety of auctions
running.
An auction runs until it reaches the required number of bids. When
that happens it will run for another 48 hours and then produce a
successful bidder.
Most auctions will be repeated 2 mins after they close. |

If you enter a bid higher than the
bid ceiling allows, your bid will be refused and you will be given the
opportunity to enter a proper bid. |

If you are the successful bidder in an auction, your gas card will be sent to you
free of charge by registered mail. |

We recommend you take note of the
number of the auction you are participating in. The auctions are
always visible in the 'auctions' section of the website.
As soon as the auction you participated in closes, it moves to the
'results' page where you can check the results. You will be able to
view all bids entered for that auction complete with time stamp.
If you are the successful bidder, you will be notified by email
immediately and receive further instructions on how to obtain your gas
card. |

If several people
enter the same bid, those bids are not unique anymore but equal and
become void.
Depending on the value of the bids entered, the highest
unique bid could be eg. $2.85
whilst the highest entered bid for that auction could be $19.95.

To run this site and to pay for
the products we charge a small fee.
The size of the fee is relevant to the value of the auctioned product
but in most cases it will be $2.
Each bid you wish to enter attracts an admin fee.
You do NOT have to pay for the 'value' of your bids.
Only the successful bidder in an auction pays for the value of the winning bid. |

Our programmers have designed a
script especially for the type of auctions we conduct.
It is 99% automated. Upon closing of the auction, the script calculates which bid is the highest/lowest unique
one automatically within a few seconds. It sends an email to the successful
bidder and publishes the results of the auction as a 'results' list in the
'results' area. You can then see all bids entered in the auction along with the time the bids were entered. |

We believe this will never happen. The
product we are auctioning is in high demand so there will always be
enough bidders. An auction simply stays open until the reserve number
of bids has been reached. This could take two days, two weeks or even
two hours. |

In principle, an unlimited number of members can bid in an auction. Our system is designed to be able to handle 100,000 bidders at the same time without a problem. |

No you cannot. Sorry.
Once a bid is entered it is final and cannot be reversed. |

The admin fee is
payable upon entering your bid and will be deducted from your
Gas Card Auctions account automatically. Each bid attracts an admin fee so if you enter
5 bids, the admin fee will be deducted 5 times. |
|
|
|
|
 |
Yes. To be able to enter a bid you
have to pay an admin fee. This fee is non refundable unless an auction
is cancelled when the admin fees are refunded to bidders.
So if it turns out that you have not entered the successful bid at the
end of an auction, your admin fee(s) will not be refunded |
